How to Use This Calculator

1. Enter the building perimeter. Measure the total linear footage around the foundation. Walk the perimeter with a measuring wheel or use the property survey.

2. Set the treatment depth. This is the vertical depth from grade to the bottom of the footer. Monolithic slabs are typically 4 feet, stem walls 3 feet, crawlspaces 2 feet.

3. Select foundation type. This auto-suggests the typical depth for that foundation, but you can override the depth field manually.

4. Add under-slab treatment if applicable. Pre-construction or post-tension slab jobs may require under-slab treatment at 1 gallon per 10 square feet.

How the Termiticide Volume Formula Works

Perimeter_Gallons = (Linear_Feet / 10) x Rate x Depth

Under_Slab_Gallons = Square_Feet / 10

Total = Perimeter_Gallons + Under_Slab_Gallons

The standard rate of 4 gallons per 10 linear feet per 1 foot of depth is specified on most major termiticide labels (Termidor, Taurus SC, Premise). This creates a continuous chemical barrier in the soil around the foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many gallons of termiticide do I need?
The standard application rate is 4 gallons of finished solution per 10 linear feet per 1 foot of treatment depth. For a 150-foot perimeter at 4-foot depth, you need (150/10) x 4 x 4 = 240 gallons of finished termiticide solution.
What is the standard termiticide application rate?
The industry standard for soil-applied liquid barrier treatment is 4 gallons of finished solution per 10 linear feet per 1 foot of depth. This rate is specified on most termiticide product labels including Termidor, Taurus, and Premise.
How deep should termite treatment be applied?
Treatment depth depends on foundation type. Monolithic slab foundations typically require 4 feet of depth to the footer. Stem wall foundations may need 2-3 feet. Crawlspace treatments are typically 1-2 feet. Always treat to the depth of the footer for effective barrier protection.
